The Anambra State Law, No. 13, 2000, which was later revised to become the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Law, founded the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (previously Anambra State University) in 2000. The defunct Anambra State Polytechnic, Uli, and the Anambra State College of Agriculture, Igbariam, transferred their assets and liabilities to it.
The university aspires to excellence and is quickly rising to the top of the list of universities in Nigeria. It is dedicated to developing highly skilled workers and is actively engaged in cutting-edge research and community service to further national development goals with international application. Currently, the university includes thirteen (13) faculties spread across three campuses in Uli, Igbariam, and Awka, as well as a teaching hospital.
