Job Title: IT Officer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
IT Support Administration:
- Provide Technical Support to the IT Administrator in the maintenance and administration of computer hardware, software, network, Servers, Applications, and SATCOM devices on the vessels.
- Provides technical support and advise as required across vessels and corporate offices.
- Adopt a proactive approach and responsibility in providing IT support, advise and one on one training of shore base and vessel staff.
- Always respond to IT Support requests in a timely fashion to ensure minimum disruption to work.
- Monitor and keep a log of all breakdowns and alterations to the network.
- Record accurately and prioritise support request and outcomes.
- Assist in with the designing and maintenance of office intranet and website and ensuring they are populated with current data always.
Hardware Maintenance:
- Carry out installation, maintenance, upgrade, and repairs of all IT equipment onboard and at shore as assigned.
- Manage the configuration, installation of all telephone and communication equipment onboard and at shore as assigned.
- Support the automation of key business processes and manage 3rd party applications for optimal performance, making customization for best fit as required.
- Perform preventive maintenance duties on items of IT hardware, including the cleaning of equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and follow-up with recommendations on best in class solution.
System Support & Network Management:
- Provide first level support on email, MS office applications and other software related issues onboard and at shore to rectify within a short period.,
- Implement a backup plan for disaster recovery.
- Ensure that all licensed softwares are properly configured and running on the latest version
- Create and manage employee accounts profile.
Requirements:
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 3 – 5 years work experience.
