The Green Youth Upskilling Program (GYUP) is a forward-looking initiative powered by The Oando Foundation, with Nigeria Climate Innovation Center as key implementing partner. It is designed to prepare young Nigerians for emerging opportunities in the green economy. As climate change and environmental challenges reshape the global workforce, this program equips youth with practical, future-focused skills that promote sustainability, innovation, and economic inclusion.
Our Focus
GYUP focuses on skills training, entrepreneurship support, and access to green job opportunities, targeting young people who are passionate about creating environmental and social impact.
We launched GYUP to:
- Bridge the youth unemployment gap through green skills.
- Foster a new generation of climate-smart innovators and changemakers.
- Strengthen Nigeria’s green ecosystem with locally driven solutions.
- Align with global climate action goals like the SDGs and the Paris Agreement.
- Create inclusive economic pathways for young women, marginalized groups, and underserved communities.
