General Requirements

Important Guidelines For Applicants Of Year 2026 Nigerian Air Force Trades And Non-Trades Men/Women Recruitment Exercise
Application Process is FREE OF CHARGE and no payment should be made at any point throughout the Exercise.

Online Registration starts on 3 September 2026 and closes on 14 October 2026. 

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS

1.    Nationality.    Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.

2.    Age.   Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years for 
non-tradesmen/women, while for tradesmen/women applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 27 years at the time of application.

3.    Marital Status.   Applicants must be single and have no children. 

4.    Height.    Applicants must not be less than 1.66m tall for males and not less than 1.63m tall for females. 

5.    Medical Fitness. Applicants must be medically, physically and psychologically fit and must meet the Nigerian Air Force medical and employment standards. 

6.    Local Government Area Attestation Form.  Applicants’ Local Government Area Attestation Forms must be signed only by one of the following:

a.    Military officer from the same State as the applicant and not below the rank of Wing Commander in the Nigerian Air Force or the equivalent ranks in the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy.

b.    Police officer of the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police and above.

c.    Substantive Local Government Chairman/Secretary.

d.    Magistrates from applicants’ state of origin.

The Local Government Area Attestation Forms must be accompanied by the passport photograph and photocopy of the signees’ Drivers Licence or National ID Card or International Passport. 

7.    Presentation of Original Credentials. Successful applicants will be required to present their original credentials for scrutiny during Selection Interview. The credentials include the following: 

a.    Two recent passport size photographs.
b.    Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age.

c.    Original and photocopy of educational/trade certificates.     

d.    Original and photocopy of Indigeneship Certificate from applicant’s Local     Government Area/State of Origin. 

e.    Original and photocopy of Attestation of Good Character signed by officer of appropriate rank as specified in paragraph 6.


8.       Applicants must be free of any previous convictions on criminal grounds by a court of law.

9.    Applicants suspected to have impersonated or submitted false document(s) during application shall be disqualified from the Exercise and have their application rejected. Where such fraudulent applicants persist through the process and are detected during interview, they will be arrested and handed over to the Nigeria Police for prosecution. Likewise, false declarations detected later will lead to withdrawal from training and prosecution. Ineligible applicants are therefore advised to heed this warning. To facilitate effective communication/feedback, applicants are required to fill in valid email addresses and telephone numbers in the appropriate spaces provided during application.


10.    Application Form. Upon completion of the application forms, applicants must print out the underlisted documents:

a.    Acknowledgment Form.

b.    Parent/Guardians Consent Form.

c.    Local Government Area Attestation Form.

11.    Zonal General Aptitude Test.  Zonal General Aptitude Test for successful applicants will hold on a date to be conveyed on this Portal.

12.    Invitation for Interview.  Only eligible applicants who passed the Zonal General Aptitude Test will be invited for Selection Interview through this Portal. In addition, the information will be sent through their email and phone numbers as deemed necessary. 


ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR TRADESMEN AND WOMEN 

13.    The following guidelines apply to applicants of the tradesmen/women category: 

a.     Applicants with ND/NCE must possess at least lower credit from accredited institutions and must possess a minimum of 5 credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB/NBAIS. 

b.    Applicants applying as drivers and other trades that require Trade test must possess a minimum of 5 credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB/NBAIS in addition to their Trade Test Certificate and a valid driving licence for drivers.

c.    Applicants applying as sportsmen/women are to present evidence of their professional experience, which should include certificates and medals.

Note: Applicants with HND or First Degrees/Post-Graduate Certificates and University Diploma certificates will not be considered for recruitment as airmen/airwomen into the Nigerian Air Force and should not apply. Applicants with medical qualifications must possess evidence of registration with relevant professional bodies and current valid practicing licence(s). 

14.    Requirements. Applicants applying as Tradesmen/women are advised to carefully read the requirements below before filling the Forms: 

a.    Aircraft Engineering. Applicants must have ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

(1)    Mechanical Engineering Technology
(2)    Mechatronics Engineering
(3)    Aeronautics Engineering
(4)    Aircraft Engineering Technology
(5)    Electrical Engineering Technology
(6)    Electrical Electronics Engineering
(7)    Agricultural Engineering 
(8)    Industrial Maintenance Engineering Technology
(9)    Automobile Technology
(10)    Welding and Fabrication Technology
(11)    Metallurgical and Material Engineering Technology

b.    Armament Technology. Applicants must have ND Certificates in any Science or Engineering related field from any recognised training institution in Nigeria.

c.    Nurses. Applicants must possess ND Certificate in Nursing or Midwifery from any recognized training institution in Nigeria and must be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Must also possess Annual Practicing License 2026. 

d.    Professions Allied to Medicine. Applicants must have specialists’ qualifications as follows:

(1)    Pharmacy Technician. Applicants must possess ND Pharmacy Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2026.

(2)    Dental Technician. Applicants must possess ND Dental Technology from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Dental Technologists Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2026.

(3)    Nutrition and Dietetics. Applicants must possess ND Nutrition/Dietetics from any recognised training institution in Nigeria.

(4)    Physiotherapy Technician. Applicants must possess Professional Diploma Certificate in Physiotherapy Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2026.

(5)    Dental Therapy. Applicants must possess ND Dental Therapy from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2026.

(6)    Dental Surgery Assistant. Applicants must possess ND Dental Health Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2026.

(7)    Medical Laboratory Technician. Applicants must possess Diploma/ND in Medical Laboratory Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Medical Laboratory Science Council and possesses Annual Practicing License 2026.

(8)     X-Ray Technician. Applicants must possess Diploma/ND in X-Ray Technician/MIPT/ Radiography Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2026.

(9)    Dispensing Optician Technician. Applicants must possess Diploma/ND in Dispensing Opticinary Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigeria, registered with Optometrists & Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2026.

(10)    Environmental Health Technician. Applicants must possess ND in Environmental Health from any recognised training institution in Nigerian, registered with Environmental Health Council of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing License 2026.

(11)    Community Health Extension Workers. Applicants must have ND in Community Health extension worker from any recognised training institution in Nigerian, registered with Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria and possesses Annual Practicing 
License 2026.

(12)    Health Information Management Technicians. Applicants must have ND in Health Information Technology from any recognised training institution in Nigeria.

(13)    Biomedical Technicians. Applicants must have ND in Biomedical Technician from any recognised training institution in Nigerian. 

(14)    Veterinary Assistant. Applicants must have ND in Veterinary from any recognised training institution in Nigeria. 


e.    Communication Information and Space Technology. Applicants must have ND/NCE/Diploma Certificates from recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

(1)    Electrical Electronics Engineering
(2)    Information Technology
(3)    Computer Science
(4)    Computer Engineering or any Science related field 
(5)    Cyber Security
(6)    Telecommunication Engineering
(7)    Satellite Communication
(8)    Physics

Any globally recognized professional certificate in Networking, Network Security, Cyber Security or Information Technology would be an added advantage.

f.    Administration/Personnel Management. Must have ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

(1)    Business Administration
(2)    Public Administration 
(3)    Statistics
(4)    Office Technology Management

g.    Logistics. Applicants must have ND in Logistics or Trade Test certificate in tailoring in any recognised training institution in Nigeria.


h.    Works. Applicants must have ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

(1)    Draughtsman 
(2)    Land Survey
(3)    Survey Technology 
(4)    Estate Surveyor Tech
(5)    Town Planning
(6)    Cartography
(7)    Trade Test Certificate in any of the following trades:

(a)    Domestic Electrician
(b)    Refrigeration and Air Conditioner Repairs
(c)    Welding and Fabrication (Iron Bending and Steel Roofers)
(d)    Carpentry & Joinery (Cabinet makers and Upholsterers) 
(e)    Plumbing 
(f)    Masonry
(g)    Painting & Decoration (POP Technicians & Tillers)

i.    Catering. Applicants must have any of the following qualifications from any recognized training institution in Nigeria.
(1)     ND in Hotel and Catering Management 
(2)    ND in Hospitality Management 
(3)    ND in Events & Tourism Management

j.    Air Provost. Applicants must have ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:
(1)    Sociology
(2)    Criminology
(3)    Psychology 
(4)    Statistics (Record Analyst)

k.    Air Intelligence.  Applicants must have ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines or Diploma/Trade Test in Computer Appreciation.

(1)    Arabic (Arabic Language Certification)
(2)    French (French Language Certification)
(3)    Chinese Language (Mandarin Language Certification) 
(4)    German Language (Deutsch Language Certification)
(5)    History/Law
(6)    Computer Science 
(7)    Electrical Engineering 
(8)    Cartography 
(9)    Geographical Information Sciences/Geography
(10)     Information Science
(11)    Statistics
(12)    Social Sciences (Criminology/Sociology etc)

Language certificate, ability to speak and understand the major local languages such as Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo as well as Kanuri/Fulfude language would be an added advantage.

l.    Education. Applicants must have NCE Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

(1)     Mathematics/Economics
(2)    English/Hausa Language
(3)    Computer/Mathematics
(4)    Chemistry/Mathematics
(5)    Physics/Computer 
(6)    Primary Education Studies
(7)    English/Yoruba Language 
(8)    English/Igbo Language

m.    Public Relations. Applicants must have any of the following qualifications from any recognised training institution in Nigeria:

(1)    ND Mass Communication/Theatre Arts
(2)    Trade Test Certificate in Photography
(3)    Trade Test Certificate in Videography

n.    Legal Clerks.  Applicants must have ND in Law.

o.    Assistant Imam.   Applicants must have ND Certificates from any recognised training institution in Nigeria in any of the following disciplines:

(1)    Arabic & Islamic Studies 
(2)    Arabic language & Literature
(3)    Diploma in Sharia Law

p.    Chaplain Assistant (Catholic). Applicants must have ND/NCE in Christian Religious Studies/Knowledge or Certificate in Catechesis from any recognised training institution in Nigeria.

q.    Chaplain Assistant (Protestant).   Applicants must have Diploma in Theology/ Biblical Studies from any recognised training institution in Nigeria. Priestly/Pastoral Ordination Certificate would be an added advantage.

r.    Driver/Mechanic. Applicants must have Trade Test certificate Grades I, II, III with a valid current driver’s license and practical experience.

s.        Music.   Applicants must have ND/NCE/Trade Test in Music Technology/ Instrument Technology.

t.        Sports.   Applicants must have SSCE and be good in any of the following sports.  

        (1)    Fitness Gym/Instructor
        (2)    Athletics

        (5)    Boxing

        (8)    Handball

Interested persons must present evidence of professional experience which should include certificate of participation and medal(s) in national and international sporting competitions. In addition, a recommendation letter from the athlete’s State Sport Council and membership of National Sporting Association is an added advantage.

u.    Account and Budget.     Applicants must have ND in Accounting.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-TRADESMEN AND WOMEN 

15.    Interested applicants applying for Non-Tradesmen/women must possess a minimum of 5 credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB/NBAIS. In addition, applicants are required to possess their school’s testimonials.
