The Federal Ministry of Education’s flagship initiative, the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Initiative, aims to give young Nigerians employable and entrepreneurial skills.
The program provides tuition-free training, monthly stipends, and start-up assistance for certain trades in industries with high demand through collaborations with accredited training facilities nationwide.

Short-Term Certificate (STC) Programme
Duration: 6 months
Ideal For: First-time trainees, school leavers, or individuals with no formal education background.
Entry Requirements:
Valid National Identification Number (NIN)
Valid Bank Verification Number (BVN)
No prior educational qualification required. This track is designed for individuals ready to learn a practical skill and enter the workforce quickly.
Monthly Stipend
N22,500
Vocational Education & Innovation (VEI) Programme
Duration: 1 year
Ideal For: Individuals with some education or informal training experience, looking to deepen and formalize their skills.
Entry Requirements (any of the following):
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – proof of skills acquired informally or through apprenticeship
OR
First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)
OR
Any form of non-formal education certificate (e.g., training from NGOs, religious institutions, nomadic education or community programs)
